Don’t wanna lose You

It was on the first day of November a year ago, that I kissed Sandra on her forehead for the final time. Her skin was cool as she lay in her coffin, wearing the Glastonbury style dress she had bought two weeks previously, and had never worn until now.

I could smell her favourite perfume, Poison by Dior. I didn’t wait as long as I should as the pain was too much. My daughters and their loving partners kept me upright.

The above photo was taken in Portugal Feb 2008, days after she was diagnosed and we were waiting for surgery.

In happier times, Sandra, on our honeymoon in Canada, Mont Tremblant to be exact. Taken on 23rd December 2005. We had a magical wedding and honeymoon. I miss this Lady so much.

However, or maybe but, I had the extraordinary fortune and privilege of being in Sandra’s company and experiencing the world together.

My Lady in Red, Four Seasons Country Club, Algarve, July 2003.

We first set eyes on each other in Portugal and that is why I am here now. Sandra always wanted to live in the Algarve, but the World conspired against us.

I have set myself a destination – to finish my first book and write a second here in the sun. To take pictures of the places we loved together and to keep in touch with great family and friends.
