On Sunday, 30th April, my birthday, I took this picture of the moon at 3 pm over the Autodromo race track in Portimao. The haziness is caused by turbulent air at over 30C.
The Porsche of my dreams was parked outside a VIP hospitality suite. I walked to the doorman and said, “If I make an offer for the Porsche, could I have a cup of coffee?” He smiled, stepped aside, and within seconds I was being treated like a VIP. The coffee was GOOD!!

At the Le Mans World Endurance Championships, I met the following characters, all competing in the Le Mans 6 hour race at Autodromo:
Daniil Kyvat, who was expelled from the Haas Formula 1 team for being Russian. Daniil races a Le Mans LMP2 prototype car with my hero, Dorianne Pin; Pietro Fittipaldi, grandson of Emerson, who drove F1 for Haas and broke both legs in a crash in 2018; Robert Kubrica, who drove F1 for many years and had devastating crashes in F1 and rallying. He effectively drives with one arm; Paul di Resta, who drove F1 for Force India and is a commentator on Sky Sport F1.

I have converted my awning into a photographic gallery and studio. It has attracted a lot of attention from passers by, all of whom think the pictures are paintings.

Regina, a German lady, travelling alone with a blind and deaf 17-year-old dog, asked if she could come in. She peered too closely, I thought, at each photo and said, “I am a photo journalist. I know how much work you put into these photos. Congratulations.”
Regina told me that she was starting to write a book about her 2 years travelling around the world on a bike. We spent an evening over a beer discussing our personal challenges in getting published. Holding up a book called ‘Sol on Writing’, she said, “This is my bible, if I get published it will be because of Sol Stein.”
I read the book over two days and went “WOW, this is the oracle.” I ordered a copy from Amazon. For writers, it’s magic.

My writing:
Always slower than planned. I have changed the title of “Angel and the Handbag” to “Entanglement”.
I got the idea from studying Quantum Mechanics!! When two Quantum particles become entangled, and they are both separated by a distance no matter how far, if one particle is changed, the other changes instantly.
I have written 40,000 words so far in “Entanglement”. Judith, from Madrid, my European friend, volunteered (I think!) to be my first reader and editor. Judith’s feedback is valuable in helping me maintain reader’s engagement and restructure more difficult chapters. My work has moved from a solo project to a collaboration!!!
I spent Sunday visiting local beaches that I had not been to before. There are many beautiful beaches along the coastline where I am staying. I go there to calm my thoughts and let inspiration wash through.
